“Introduction to Ruby” Videos for Beginners
Ian Ozsvald wrote to tell me that ShowMeDo now features a new series of introductory Ruby videos by Chinmoy Gavini. There are currently five videos in the series and they start off with a basic walkthrough of irb and Ruby's basic features, moving on to topics such as creating and using classes, deep copy versus shallow copy, regular expressions, marshaling, and CSV.

Hi Peter, thanks for pasting the link. Just to let everyone know - Chinmoy is interested in making more videos, so please do show your appreciation by leaving him some encouraging feedback if you'd like to see more Ruby tutorial videos by Chinmoy.
Leaving a positive comment or giving him a Thumbs-Up vote on one of his video pages is what you need to do. Chinmoy put in a fair amount of time to record these videos and he's keen to know if there's an audience for more of them.
We'd certainly love to see more Ruby (and Rails) videos in our site so do also please help to spread the word if you like what you see.
Regards,
Ian Ozsvald (co-founder ShowMeDo)

I applaud Chinmoy making the videos but honestly, they're unwatchably boring
and monotone. I couldn't get more than 3 minutes into any of them.

I hear ya. I am working on improving speed without losing clarity--this is the first set of screencasts I have ever made :)
